Tamron have launched a new 70-300 zoom lens. It's got vibration compensation (VC) and uses their new ultra-sonic silent drive (USD), as well as as an extra-low dispersion (XLD) element. Full name is SP 70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di VC USD (Model A005)
Initally launched with a Nikon mount, Canon and Sony to follow.
More details here.
Anyone know if the USD is faster Nikons? 70-300?
ReplyDeleteAccording to the Nikon website (http://www.europe-nikon.com/en_GB/products/product_details.page?ParamValue=NIKKOR%20Lenses&Subnav1Param=Auto%20Focus%20Lenses&Subnav2Param=0&Subnav3Param=0&RunQuery=l2&ID=869), their 70-300 lens has an aperture of f/4.5-5.6, which would suggest the Tamron lens is faster at 70mm. That doesn't mean it's a better lens though, of course...
